Rosselkhozbank (JSC Russian Agricultural Bank, or RSHB) is one of Russia's largest universal commercial banks, operating under 100% state ownership. It was founded in 2000 with a core mission: to develop the national credit and financial system for the agricultural sector (agribusiness) and rural areas of the Russian Federation.
However, today RSHB has grown far beyond a purely "agricultural" bank. It offers a full range of financial services to large agribusiness holdings, small farms, and urban as well as rural residents — including mortgages (notably subsidized rural mortgages), consumer loans, deposits, and business settlement services. The bank actively finances import substitution projects, rural development, and agritourism. Thanks to its extensive branch network (especially in rural areas where many other major banks have a limited presence) and its state-owned status, Rosselkhozbank plays a critical role in ensuring Russia's food security and economic stability.
